So, barring anything exciting to post of my own, I’m going to copy Ali Edwards post of the day.

Savanna is trying to go back to sleep; she has been spending the late night hours on the phone with her boyfriend, Barry.
Harry and George are watching Coraline again. It’s the first movie that George has taken an interest in.
Thawing out frozen hash browns for dinner.
Every fan in the house is going because we woke up stifling. With the steady spider traffic, I haven’t been willing to leave any windows open, not even a crack.
Stripped my bed and am washing everything. just cause.
Steven playing video games-what a shocker!
The Kitties are napping. They are finally big enough for collars and they had a dramatic night last night trying to get used to them.
Me surfing and posting, as usual!

as my usual, I waited till the last possible day to do a LO for my local store, About Memories and More. I couldn’t really see how all the materials were going to come together, but in the end, they really, really did.

Last week, we spent one whirlwind day down in Phoenix to enjoy its many, many shopping opportunities. Our original plan was to stay with family since we knew we were going to be out and about the whole time, but they bailed on us at the last minute. (and I mean last minute) so Brian got a super-cheap last minute deal at Hyatt Place in Chandler near his office. It was a lovely hotel room, I only wish that we hadn’t arrived at midnight. We got very little chance to enjoy it, but I did take a bath in the huge tub to unwind and Harry loved the big TV and the pool. I let the big boys sleep in and snuck off to Hobby Lobby and Starbucks first thing and I have to say, Hobby Lobby was a real treat. I got a ton of stuff for only $50 there. it was thrilling. After I took Harry swimming for a bit, it was check out time and then we headed right over to IKEA. I bought a new desk for only $60 and lots of other little things. I think the IKEA deals deserve a post of their own, so that might be next up. We were hoping to find some interesting food, but we were too hungry after that and just went to the closest place, Panda Express. We spent the rest of the afternoon at Chandler Fashion Square, but no one was really in the mood, we just wandered around. I guess after all the hurrying and goal-oriented shopping, browsing wasn’t going to happen. Stopped at Ray’s Pizza on the way out of town and we were home by 9pm. I can’t wait to do it all again.

Yesterday my son had a diabetes follow-up, so later that day I decided to reorganize his supplies. George was oh so helpful and picked up one of the syringes that I dropped and immediately he mimicked Steven and was pretending to give himself an injection. He is pretty mesmerized by the whole operation when Steven does it and he had it just right. Kind of alarming and kind of sweet.

Here’s a first for me. Usually I see these challenges and think “Oh, I should try that.” and that’s the first and last time I think about it…but when I saw this post at kwernerdesign.com, I knew that I already had some photos that would work and I loved the color combo. I also found that I had felt in turquoise, red, brown and yellow, so I was off! It was really fun.

I’ve been wondering lately if Daisy would like a buddy to play with. There aren’t any off-leash parks here and being within a National forest, that makes pretty good sense.
At first I thought it would be an ideal place and time for another dog, probably a rescue dog, but I am not sure I am ready for another commitment like that. Now I’m thinking of an older cat, one that isn’t afraid of dogs and can hold her own. It’s kind of a good time to get one, she could enjoy the enclosed porch without having to go outside.
Still in the thinking/planning stage…

I am almost recovered from the cough/cold from hell…..seriously, I thought I would never ever get better, but the symptoms themselves were not alarming, just endless.
We have been staying home a LOT, watching TONS of TV and movies. George was pretty happy about it (he didn’t get very sick at all, lucky boy) and seems to be lovin’ the homebody thing.

I, on the other hand, am quite perturbed that despite wanting to swoon and fall down, was still required to do all the dishes and laundry. Believe me, that particular debt will be repaid in spades next time someone else I know is “sick.”

Here’s the things I am coveting right now, in order of desired-ness.

I love this frame from Ikea and it’s only $25!It would be totally perfect for my studio/office.

I really need this birdie necklace from Figs and Ginger 4 baby birds for me!

I haven’t gotten anything scrappy in a long, long time and this fits the bill perfectly and it’s even sold at Walmart!
That’s it, no diamonds or furs…just little happy things.

I am totally impressed with Harry’s attitude yesterday. No complaining, no tears, even though this was by far, the most meager Christmas yet. I am so relieved that it is over!
