Project Life Title Page

So, after I finished up my third week of Project Life, I decided to make a title page and it kept getting more and more elaborate as I went on. I’m pretty happy with the result; it is colorful and eclectic and just like me.

New Product Picks

So, as I’ve been perusing all the sneak peeks for new scrapbook products, I’ve saved a few of my favorite things:

There are too many things from Studio Calico that I want to get, but here is just one I love:

I really like what Jenni Bowlin is coming up with:

Week 3

Well, I got week 3 in the can in only about 2 hours. This one page deal seems to be working well for me….plenty of photos to choose from, but not the level of navel-gazing that I want to avoid. The whole process including choosing & printing the photos took only 2 hours.

After I finished up my week 3 page, I moved back to make a title page and that…..took a bit longer, as in, it was too dark to take a decent photo when I was finally done. Next time!

Jumping in

with both feet and a whole lot of stash!

I have been watching as more and more of my fellow scrapbookers have started using a Project Life format for their pages. I love the idea of making things simpler and easier, but I couldn’t wrap my head around either the intense amount of information in the pages I saw or the thought of buying more “stuff” for this when I already have SO MUCH stuff of my own.

I decided to just begin by trying out the blocked pages with things I already had and I knew I didn’t want to end up with gigantic albums filled with these types of pages, so I limited myself to just one page for each week (or so) I sketched out each page so I could figure out which photos to print. Since I had so many photo from my trip to Reno, I decided to just make one collage for each day I was there.

The pages came together very, very quick and I am very happy with the result. I imagine I’ll get more detailed and creative as times goes by, but here are weeks 1 & 2:

I was really inspired by the whole process, so I got out my basket of scrap papers and cut EVERY single piece into 4×6′s and 3×4′s. I put a miniseries on Netflix (Bleak House-it was great) and spent yesterday rounding all the corners cause I’m kind of crazy like that. Now I have huge stacks of cards, all ready to go!

What I’ve been up to

Our turkey day was low-key and no-stress. I wore my jammies all day to cook and it was kind of fun that way. Everything turned out great; I think I’m finally getting the hang of it after doing it twenty-odd times.

The long weekend was kind of extra-long for me. I have been putting off some dental work for a very, very long time and those crows came home to roost. Since I have arthritis, the pain isn’t the worst part for me, it’s the whole fear of dentists and their huge, terrifying bills. Imagining the worst over those four days before I could get in there was as bad as it gets. (or so I thought)

To get my mind off of my mouth, I started sorting out all the photos my mom gave me. So far I have a box of 841 done. I need to buy 50 page protectors to put them in now!

In other news, we have been watching Christmas shows and movies. I’m afraid we have watched almost all of the ones we have already; time to find some more!

Happy Birthday to Me!

So, yesterday was my 42nd Birthday. The best part was that I got to be busy/happy all day and really never gave a thought to the whole getting older aspect. I had presents sprinkled throughout the day, went out for a nice lunch with the kids, and then Brian and I went to hear the Chandler Symphony in the afternoon. First thing this morning, I had flowers delivered, courtesy of my lovely Savanna. Overall, it was the nicest birthday I’ve had in many years and I have already made a scrapbook page for it.

Thanks to Brian and my sweet children!

Rainy days and Mondays

Today we had both! Gosh it was so nice to wake up and find HUGE puddles. Unfortunately, one of them was inside because a window leaked. 100 year old windows are seriously overrated.

I finally had a reason to break out my $3 black and white houndstooth rainboots I got at Target.

Before & After

This afternoon, I started a movie (The Changeling) picked out some supplies and spent the next two hours happily absorbed.

Before:
